God never designed His people to heal alone. Just as the body needs the rest of its members, the mind often needs the community of faith. When Elijah was overwhelmed, God sent an angel. When Elijah regained strength, God sent him to Jehu and to Elisha. Healing required people.

Many in the Church today carry deep mental wounds, but feel forced to hide them. We freely pray for cancer, surgery, or physical pain, but almost never hear public requests for anxiety, despair, panic attacks, or the wounds no one can see. Yet the battlefield of the mind is often the fiercest battlefield of all.

The Church must become a safe place again. A place of understanding. A place where compassion replaces assumptions and where spiritual care stands alongside professional support. Just as we would guide someone to a surgeon for a broken spine, we guide those with severe mental illness to trained professionals. Just as we walk with the physically disabled, we walk with the mentally afflicted.

You are not weak because your mind hurts. You are not broken beyond usefulness. You are not alone in your struggle. And God has placed people around you to hold up your arms when you cannot hold them up yourself. Healing happens when the body of Christ becomes what Christ designed it to be.
